Nigerian Dwarf Goat

The Nigerian Dwarf goat traces its origins to West Africa. Small goats were historically transported to Europe and the United States, and the breed was later developed and standardized in America.

They are one of the smallest goat breeds, typically standing between 17 and 23 inches tall at the shoulder, but despite their small size, they are a true dairy breed. Nigerian Dwarf milk is known for having an especially high butterfat content compared to standard dairy goat breeds.

Unlike many goat breeds that only breed during a specific season, Nigerian Dwarf goats can breed year-round, which is part of why the breed has grown so popular with small farms.

They are naturally curious, agile climbers, and social animals that bond quickly with their handlers and with each other.
